We regularly organize an event where male voice choirs meet together and perform alternately concert in the theater of Châtel-Guyon. We call that event :« Les Rencontres ».
Why such event ?
The drivers :
To our knowledge few events dedicated only to male voice exist. The restoration of the Châtel-Guyon theater for which our choir provide its small contribution during five years and its re-opening in may 2015 are seeming to give a good opportunity to fill the gap. Our choir « Voix Dômes » is seeing in such project a way to create a novel animation in our town but overall an opportunity to meet praised choirs le contact ne peut qu’être bénéfique.
The goal :
During the three days of a week-end get together four male voice choirs with at least one from abroad with another musical culture and/or repertoire. Only the diversity of culture and the musical originality are driving our choices. And for each event we are trying to catch a group from the top level.
The organization :
– Les Rencontres are always taking place during the first fifteen days of october. The choirs arrive on friday. In the evening at 20H30, a first concert take place where two the choirs are performing a program including ten to twelve songs. The organisation is offering a « after concert » event at the end of the concert.
– On saturday at 17H, two choirs (one from the friday plus one of the others) provide a second concert on the same principles than the previous day.
– On saturday at 20H30 the « top level » choir is performing alone a third concert. Just after the gala dinner is offer to all the singers.
– On sunday at 15H, the two choirs which have not sing in the same concert, are meeting together for a fourth concert, making the end of the event.
NB : Each choir is performing a different program during each concert.
The next event
The 6èmes rencontres internationales de voix d’hommes will take place on the 16th, 17th and 18th october 2026 in the Châtel-Guyon theater.
